#2. Lost in the pages…
If collecting art supplies were the basis for a productive art practice, then I would be highly successful by now.
As part of this public sketchbook project, I am banning myself from buying any more materials.
I either have it, or I can survive without it!
I also have an extensive collection of sketchbooks that need to be filled. One of my favorite ways to avoid making marks is by binding a book, which now means I have enough sketchbooks to last me months—if not years—of work.
This is a book I stitched together over the weekend. It is made of 100% cotton writing paper—absolutely stunning to work on… now I just need to be brave and start it.
I was incredibly fortunate to receive vouchers over the summer for my favorite art store. This pile of amazingness is just a small snapshot proving why I need nothing more.
As of today, the art store ban is officially in place!
Swatching my collection of materials is a mandatory step whenever I buy something new. But I’ve realised it would be even more useful to have them all swatched in the same book.
This blog has just given me my first brainwave!
So, I’m going to create a dedicated swatch book—a complete repository of my materials! 😊
